AUSTRALIA – Pathways to Migration
As Registered Nurse or Aged Care Worker
Two Options to work and settle in Australia
ONE:
The nurse will have 18 months visa for them to prepare for their IELTS, AHPRA and Bridging Program.
The 18 month visa is a big advantage compared to the 3 month visa. The direct bridging which is the 3 month program, nurses do not have enough time to find a job or sponsor. That is why most nurses who do the direct bridging programs go back to the Philippines after their 3 month visa.
TWO:
This is also for under board nurses and other healthcare workers who wish to gain qualification. Work as Community Health Worker and eventually settle in Australia.
PROCESS and REQUIREMENT
- Programs to be taken:
- Certificate in Aged Care (3 months) and
- Diploma in Community Services (1 year)
- IELTS requirement is only 5.5 either General or Academic.
- Funds (Show Money) should be ready, P1.9M or P2.4M if with spouse
ADVANTAGES
- Minimal CASH OUT before leaving for Australia (only $1,000 deposit + insurance of $700)
- Students can work 20 hours per week during the program.
- Spouses can go to Australia with the students and may also work 20 hours per week.
OBJECTIVE: Study and work in Australia in a skilled job so they can be considered for migration (total of 2 years).
Cert III in Aged Care – 3 months ($4,600 approx. tuition)
They can work in aged care after the 3 months program. It is under the community service which is considered skilled.
Start counting of work experience for the 2 yrs. required residency.
Diploma of Children‘s Services or Diploma of Community Services –12 monthsÂ
($14,000 payable in 4 instalments – every three months)
Also considered SKILLED and will lead to migration.
Total Program Duration is 15 months.
After the above two programs, they can apply for a Training and Research Visa where they can work full time for 14 months (so as to complete the 2 yrs. requirement).
Get a full time job offer and continue working towards possible residency. Possible Jobs are in the Consolidate Sponsored Occupation List of Australia.
Examples are: Community Worker, Residential Care Officer or
Disabilities Service Officer (Codes 411711, 411715, 411712)
After which, a variety of sponsorship pathways which allow them to live and work permanently in Australia such as a Temporary work (Skilled) Visa Subclass 457 or a Regional Skills Migration Scheme (RSMS).
